Hunting season varies depending on the animal being hunted, the weapon used, and the age of the hunter. There are two turkey seasons, spring and fall. Both of these seasons allow youth hunters to hunt a couple days before the official season starts. Spring turkey season typically runs the month of May, while fall turkey season is in October. For deer hunters, the season starts with archery in early October. Rifle season for deer hunting occurs in November. Black bear hunting runs from September to mid-November. There are also specific seasons for upland birds and waterfowls and small game animals.
