Yatesville Lake State Park

Yatesville Lake provides plenty of room to skim the waves or catch some rays in your favorite cruisecraft—be it a houseboat, pontoon, speed boat or jet ski. The Yatesville Marina offers everything boaters and fishers need for lake fun. Relax in the scenic lakeside setting of Yatesville Lake's campground.

Birding
Birding opportunities abound throughout the park with the marina and dam areas the best to observe waterfowl and the occasional visits from the Bald Eagles and Osprey.

The campground trails and golf course areas offer woodlands as well as a few open fields to observe the Wild Turkey, Grouse, Dove, Woodpeckers, Warblers and Cardinals throughout the year. Campers can enjoy the night-time songs of the Whip-Poor Will during the summer camping season.

Seasonal spring/summer visitors include the Hummingbirds, Purple Martins, Robins and a variety of migrating birds. Wintertime visitors include the American Gold Finch family.

Boating
The park hosts two launch ramps (one at the marina, one at the campground) for better access to the lake. Yatesville Lake is well known for its cleanliness and you can rent pontoon boats from the marina to enjoy it to its full extent. The average depth of the lake is 40 feet.

Camping
Relax in the scenic lakeside setting of the park's 47 site campground. Opened in 1999, the campground also has 16 "boat in" sites and 4 "hike in" sites. The "boat in" sites are accessible only by boat, for secluded lakeside camping. The campground also has a playground facility, nature trails, laundry room, restrooms & showers, and a dump station.

Other facilities at the park include the Eagle Ridge Golf Course and pro shop, one picnic shelter, and a playground.

Fishing
An ADA-compliant fishing jetty and lagoon may be found at the marina, which has a terrific boat dock and a store that sells gas, groceries, bait, fishing equipment, and souvenirs.

Golf
Yatesville Lake State Park is proud to present its newest facility: the Eagle Ridge Golf Course. Completed in 2003, the Eagle Ridge Golf Course is an 18 hole, par 71 delight. The course, built on mountainous terrain, features dramatic views. Eagle Ridge also houses a fully equipped pro shop to provide for golfers' needs such as food & drink, souvenir items, rental clubs, and golfing equipment. Golf packages and season passes are offered. Tee time reservations are accepted. Open Year Round.

Hiking
There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors on several trails for all levels. The 2-mile Pleasant Ridge Trail is near the campground, and the 2.5-mile Mary Ingles Trail system is near the marina with a variety of choices from rugged wooded hiking to exercise paths, and even an ADA self-interpretive nature trail.

The Yatesville Lake Multi-Use Trail is a large 20+ mile trail, open to hikers, backpackers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders.

Picnicking
Yatesville Lake has one picnic shelter. A playground area, horseshoe pit, and corn hole are located in the nearby campground. Reservations for the shelter are accepted up to one year in advance.
