Railroad Beach

Old Rope Ferry Road/Route 156

This beach, also known as "Amtrak Beach," was recently given to the town by Amtrak. It is a narrow cobble and sandy beach for unsupervised swimming, crabbing, fishing and shell fishing.

Railroad Beach offers a less crowded alternative to other nearby municipal beaches and there is no parking fee to access this narrow strip of sandy beach. Be cautious, though, as there are no life guards. Watch the Acela speed by and charter fishing boats depart from the site.
