Poverty Point Reservoir State Park offers year round fishing for largemouth bass, black crappie, blue gill and channel catfish. Two boat launches, a 48-boat slip marina, fishing pier and fish cleaning station provide a great place to enjoy recreational and sport fishing. In addition to fishing and watersports, the region falls within the Mississippi Flyway for many winged species. Depending on the season, visitors will see cormorants, ducks, geese and pelicans.
