About Us:
Sammy Shelor, an award winning bluegrass banjo player, inherited his family farm in Meadows of Dan. In 2006, Sammy and Sue Shelor decided to turn their family farm into an agri-tourism destination featuring a musically themed corn maze and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch along with fresh produce grown by Sue on the farm. The Shelors graciously host several festivals throughout the season.
Sue Shelor's business, Mountain Meadow Crafts, began when she became interested in crafting with gourds. She has experience in ceramics, batiking and pencil drawing as well, but has found gourd crafting a lasting interest. Her artistic talents emerged with this new medium and she uses natural materials, woodburning, carving and other techniques to create unusual one-of-kind decorative items for the home. Her love of hand crafted items prompted Sue to open a shop on the farm featuring locally handmade mountain crafts. The shop, Mountain Meadow Farm and Craft Market, is open April to December.
