About Us:
The Johnson City Farmers Market has been around since 1976. It began as a cooperative effort between markets in Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol. The people instrumental for its beginning were Marsh Beckner, Walter Blalock, and Harry Fain. This association was called F.A.R.M., which stood for Tri-Cities Farmers' Association For Retail Marketing. The Johnson City Farmer's Market was located behind St. Johns Episcopal Church on North Roan Street in Johnson City, TN.
In 2000, St. Johns needed to expand and the market moved to its previous location of the city-owned parking lot at South Roan Street and State of Franklin Road. Luke and Bonnie Verble were instrumental in making this transition. In 2003, Don Dennis and Luke Verble joined the market in an effort for the Johnson City market to break away from what had become a Kingsport oriented market.
As of 2016, the Johnson City Farmers Market is now located at The Pavilion at Founders Park. It is open mid-April through October on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.
At the Johnson City Farmer's Market you will be able to enjoy fresh produce, baked and canned goods, arts and crafts, and community fellowship.
