John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center

19600 South Molalla Avenue

The John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center (ELC) in Oregon City is a great place for children, families and adults to explore the outdoors and learn more about watersheds through hands-on activities and environmental education.

The ELC is a five-acre site located on the Clackamas Community College Oregon City campus. Newel Creek bubbles to life here, then flows to the Willamette River through the 1,800-acre Newell Creek watershed, the largest intact green space in the South Metro area.

At the ELC, you can explore trails, discover native plants and wildlife, or observe the stars at the Haggart Observatory. We offer interactive environmental education school programs for elementary-age students, as well as professional development workshops for teachers.
