The City of Highland's Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Highland Skating Association, constructed a skate park within Glik Park. The project was made possible in part due to an OSLAD grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and a $20,000 donation from the Highland Optimist Club. The matching grant provided funding for the skatepark project as well as funds for the completion of the walking trail system throughout Glik Park. Highland Skate Park is located at Glik Park,
