Cherry Avenue Dog Park

The Cherry Avenue Dog Park officially opened on August 4th, 2011 with a small ceremony at 11:30 am. The 1.5 acre park, created by Suffolk County Parks and Recreation, is the third dog park built since the passage of the Five New Dog Parks bill in 2007, and was made possible by legislation introduced by Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay.

The off-leash park has two sections, one for dogs under 25 pounds and the other for larger dogs. Both sections have running 2water, and the areas are double gated and neatly mulched. There is parking for approximately 30 cars, all of it just south of the Baymen Soccer Club Fields.
