About Us:

Cheff's Canoe Rental, a family business based out of Walnut Hills Family Campground in Durand Mi has been in operation since the year 2000.

As a family we all enjoy getting out on the river in canoes and kayaks. The river itself is mild mannered except in periods of high water, normally the river is knee to waist deep in most places making for an enjoyable trip. The river is constantly winding its way through the country side, the banks are mostly wooded giving it that "up north" look and feel. There is abundant wildlife to be seen by the observant paddler such as deer, beaver, turtles, muskrat, turkeys, the occasional coyote or fox and various types of waterfowl.

For the fisherman northern pike, smallmouth bass and many other species inhabit the river. Chances are you will be lead down the river by a friendly yet cautious great blue herron who will fly down around the next bend every time you catch up to him.
