Camels Hump Trail

Bamforth Parking Area for the Long Trail (this trail head can be approached from the east or west, so two descriptions are needed): To get to this trail head from the Burlington area or I89 exit 11, the best route is to use VT Rt. 2 through Richmond to Jonesville, turn right across the Winooski River bridge, then a very short distance on Cochran Road from the bridge to the first left onto the Duxbury Road, then about 3.1 miles along Duxbury road to the Long Trail parking area on the right. To get to this trail head from the Waterbury area or I89 exit 10, the best route is to turn southwest onto Winooski Street, go to the end of this street, and turn right onto River Road. Winooski Street is just under 0.2 miles from the I89 off ramp in Waterbury following VT Rt. 2 to the left, or just over 0.1 miles on VT Rt. 2 from the junction with Stowe Street at the traffic light. Once on River Road, follow this road for just over 6.5 miles to the Long Trail parking lot on the left.
