Bowman Recreation Area


Bowman Lake is a 23-acre area lying adjacent to the Loup River and features a 20-acre man made lake. It is located one mile west of Loup City Bowman Recreation Area offers picnicking, fishing and primitive camping. There are 10 non-pad sites without electricity available.

The lake has recently been transferred from the State of Nebraska to Sherman County. Efforts are underway to help revitalize the area and make it more accesible to the general public. Several long term projects are in the planning stages and will be executed within the next several years.
