Blue Ridge Audubon Chapter

About:

Blue Ridge Audubon (formerly the Elisha Mitchell Audubon Society) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society, serving Buncombe, Henderson, and surrounding counties in the mountains of western North Carolina.

We are the only NC Audubon chapter that manages a wildlife sanctuary.

We host monthly bird walks at Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary and other local birding spots. Our programs, held seven times per year at the Reuter Center on the UNC Asheville campus, are free and open to the public.

Mission:

Our mission is to protect birds and the places they depend on. We believe that a world in which birds thrive is a world that benefits all living things.

Vision:

Our vision is a vibrant and just community where the protection of birds and our natural world is valued by everyone.
